I have been giving massages for many years and have very intuitive hands. My certification from Galen Institute of Massage Therapy is in Medical Massage. However, I mostly use a combination of Swedish and Deep-tissue. Depending on the person receiving the massage, I can also use a medium to light touch, creating a different type of experience. My routine typically begins with the person face down on the table and I begin by warming up and working the muscles of the upper body. I then move down to the lower portions, beginning by warming up the buttocks, the leg, and the foot muscles. When working the legs, I also work the inner thigh area and will only go as high as the receiver is comfortable with. Once the entire back portion of the body has been massaged, I then have the receiver turn over and face up. I place the head rest under the back of the neck for support and I begin working on the body at the feet and continue working up the body. When I reach the head, I continue by working the neck and shoulders, and down the arms and finish with the hands and fingers. I will only work areas which the receiver is comfortable with and only to their particular comfort level. And I only use the leg bolster if the client is more comfortable when it is being used.
